The Morongo Valley Fire Department is a vital division of the Morongo Valley Community Services District (MVCSD). We’re looking for dedicated, service-minded individuals to join our team in delivering high-quality fire protection, emergency medical services, and community safety.

As part of the MVCSD, our department plays a key role in supporting and protecting the residents of Morongo Valley. Employment opportunities may include full-time, part-time, and volunteer positions in fire suppression, EMS, and support services. We value teamwork, integrity, and a strong commitment to public service.

Fire Chief | Qualifications:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Fire Chief is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of the Fire Department to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. This position plays a vital role in shaping department policy, managing personnel, and maintaining strong community and board relations.

  •  Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and four years at the rank of Fire Captain, Fire Training Captain and or Fire Marshal or above including two years demonstrable supervisory experience, or a combination of similar education and experience.
  •  Must possess of a valid California Driver’s License with a Firefighter Endorsement and safe driving   record.
  • Oversee day-to-day fire department operations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate department staff.
  • Implement and enforce fire department and district policies.
  • Recommend and coordinate purchases, equipment needs, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the department to the Board of Directors, community members, and partner agencies.
  • Lead training, emergency preparedness, and community outreach initiatives.

Fire Apparatus Engineer | Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience as a firefighter (preferred) 
  • 1A /1B (Required) 
  • "F" Endorsement & DOT Medical (within 1 Month of Hire) 

Paramedic Firefighter | Qualifications:

  • Valid NREMT or CA Paramedic License
  • ACCS, PALS, CPR Card
  • FFI (Preferred)

Reserve Firefighter EMT | Qualifications:

  • EMT License (Required)
  • FFI (Preferred) 
  • CPR Card
